Quotes from Dommemoir's
Published Reviews

Dommemoir was a true eye opener. It caused me to stop and consider the other side of the coin through the eyes of the opposite sex. Men allowing women to be the dominant force in the relationship harbors such taboos in today's world. The author touched on how society views men who enjoy allowing their significant others to be in control and be subservient to another. I stopped and pondered many views that I previously thought to be un-savorable, and reconsidered them with a more open, educated mind.

Slave Nicholas and Lady Genevičve's lives are not really that different of what we might call a normal life. After reading this book I have a better understanding of how they live and have a better understanding of their lifestyle. ... I recommend this book if you have no idea what a FemDom lifestyle is and would want to see it through their eyes.

Dommemoir is a well-written story of sexual expression triumphing over sexual repression and a brand of true love that could only ever be experienced within the restrictions of a BDSM relationship. For those who are already familiar with this lifestyle, Dommemoir should prove a telling tale where readers can recognise their own experiences and preconceptions as they are met and managed. For those who don’t know the lifestyle but are curious to learn more, Dommemoir will give a fascinating insight to unimagined possibilities.

To say this book is intense is an understatement. Lots of emotions are expressed and the scenes drag you into the drama. You may not like or agree with everything going on but you can feel the yearning and the desires. Because it feels like an actual personal account, you become involved in the lives portrayed and feel like you have a vested interest in the outcome. (full review at Night Owl Romance Romance)

For those who are curious of the lifestyle, DOMMEMOIR is an educational as well as entertaining read. For those who live the lifestyle and read for entertainment purposes, DOMMEMOIR is a celebration of the love that exists within a committed triad. Well done, I.G. Frederick!!

Dommemoir is a knowledgeable, sympathetic look at the needs and desires of a dominant woman and a submissive man. ... I.G. Frederick describes the details of play sessions, piercing, branding and polyamory with skill and authority. Dommemoir is ultimately a love story, describing a full-time relationship many fantasise about but few will ever experience, but within its pages is plenty of comfort and affirmation for would-be pervs everywhere. Through well-written words that echo two souls, the Lady G and Her slave nicholas, readers are escorted through a journey that many fail to explore. The core of what and who we are beyond desire, that truth of our existence and what makes us is revealed through the struggles, the trials, the losses and the triumphs recorded in this memoir. Lady G and nicholas present readers with a search for purpose and reason, the meaning in one’s existence, the ache for satisfaction and a portrayal of the courage to embrace the relief for that ache, even if it’s an existence that must be protected from the vanilla world. From the first few sentences until the end, I was hooked and spellbound by the story being told here. It is something we all want, which is someone to love and take care of, the difference here is that Genevičve needed to be loved and worshipped and Nicholas needed to be loved and worship at his mistress' feet...

This story is beautifully written and is touching. It is also a study of the dynamics between a female Domme and her slave and how and why a slave must serve her. (click here for full review)

Quotes from other authors about Dommemoir

The aptly titled DOMMEMOIR by I.G. Frederick delivers on so many levels that it defies categorization. One has to begin with the eroticism of it all, but it quickly sucks you in and envelopes you in the bondage of its spell, which is of course the best eroticism of all. Unlike so many works of erotica, DOMMEMOIR is a character study that breathes complex and compelling life into its hero, the devastating Lady Geneviéve and the fortunate submissives who worship at her feet. One rarely reads such a book unless one is already immersed in the culture and context of the scene, which makes this reading experience even more intense with possibilities. But even if you're not there yet, you will be after DOMMEMOIR has infected your psyche, placing you in the delicious bondage of its dark and compelling landscape of a very different flavor of love. But love, nonetheless.

Overall, I really liked Dommemoir. It is very open in its look at the Dominant/submissive dynamic. There is so much more to the relationship between a Domina and her slave than sex. It is about fulfilling the innermost needs: the need to serve and worship and the need to control and be worshiped as a Goddess. Very refreshing and satisfying book.(full review archived at Goodreads)

What readers are saying about Dommemoir

From LibraryThing: I have often been disappointed at the quality of writing when it comes to erotica...its either the written equivalent of a scratchy seedy porn video or it fails to live up to the "blurb".

Thankfully this piece stands apart from the rest as being thoughtful, evocative, clearly voiced by its two main characters in The Lady G and her slave nicolas, erotic, tender and compelling.

Well crafted plot lines, just the right amount of descriptive language, and damn it...it had a story!! There was a beginning, a middle and a conclusion....nicely rounded so the book would stand alone, but the opening was there for a sequel if the author so chooses.

There are many "how to" books on BDSM about and they are all useful tools. This is one novel I would recommend as reading for those on the fringes who cannot get a grasp on why someone would enter this seemingly strange and evil world by choice. even though it is presented as fiction, it gives the reader a look inside the minds of the characters and their struggling with choice, validation and acceptance of just who and what they are and have the potential to become.

BDSM: Art Imitates Life In Strange Ways!: As someone relatively new to reading literature in this genre I wasn't quite sure what to expect when a friend suggested I give this a read through. When it comes to the lifestyle of BDSM, I didn't know jack--just what you see on TV. Come to find out what you see on TV is not only tame by comparison it's a bit missleading (who would guess!?). When you finally get into the story a bit, you realize that this isn't some simple made up crap from Penthouse Forum. This sounds like it's written by someone who has been there and lived it--and it doesn't leave out any of the gritty details! The sex scenes are pretty hot, but they're not just a random bunch of unbelievable scenarios thrown together to make it long enough for a book--there's actually a plot, and it let's you see how people who aren't freaks might get turned on by this lifestyle. The main characters seem like they could be your neighbors, but what goes on inside their house is a bit different than the usual. Strangest of all, despite what you think about all the BDSM, this actually turns out to be a love story--and at the end, you actually believe it. Definitely worth your time.

A BDSM love story with heart...Among other things: Dommemoir is a terrific read. Like many romance novels, Dommemoir is the tale of one woman's quest for true love, happiness, and companionship. But the problem is that this particular woman can't find happiness in the ways society has laid out for her. She has tried marriage, and once divorced, tries the other various options, but this is a woman who needs to be in complete control--and we're talking complete, absolute control. Lady Geneviéve must own her man. Fortunately for her, there are men in the world who seek to be owned by such a woman as herself and to live their lives in quiet servitude and worship, but not many, and how will she find one who is suitable? This is an unconventional romance, but it is a beautiful story that will make you question some of your deepest beliefs and assumptions about gender and human relationships. It will turn you on, as the love scenes are hot, hot, hot, and it may scare you, too!

Geneviéve has lived in a vanilla marriage for many years, but while she’s exceptionally well catered for financially, what she really needs is a man to serve her – a man who she can own body and soul, and who will do the household chores she hates. Nicolas has wanted to be a woman’s slave ever since he was bossed around by a childhood playmate. Their journey will eventually lead them into a 24/7 BDSM relationship in which each will gain exactly what they want from the other, but there are setbacks and disappointments for both of them before they reach that point.
Told in the form of two overlapping autobiographies, Dommemoir is a knowledgeable, sympathetic look at the needs and desires of a dominant woman and a submissive man. The Lady Geneviéve is a late bloomer while nicolas (BDSM protocol is followed here, with all the slaves and submissive characters having their names rendered in lower case) has always known he wants to worship a woman. Both of them are in marriages where their partner is unsympathetic to their needs, and one of the themes of this novel is the conflict betweeen those in the lifestyle and those in wider society who simply don’t understand the need to dominate or submit.
The characters The Lady Geneviéve and nicolas meet along the way are composites of many in the lifestyle, from the online timewaster to the ageing sissy maid, and I.G.

Imagine devotion, commitment and servitude. Utter surrender to being owned completely. Visualize love that knows no boundaries but those that are proposed. Existing as a slave to a divine worship and existence, knowing no greater degree of ecstasy than giving ecstasy. Pleasure becoming pleasure only when decreed by the receiver in the moans, the praise, the pat on the head, the punishment, the eternal collar of gold, the piercing, and the brand of a lifetime from Her. She who is the inspiration, the source, the reason… The Lady G and her Dommemoir.
Fairy tales dictate a prince for every princess to take her away into a happily ever after where she is the center of his universe. When we awake from the fairytale, we are often left in bewilderment wondering where all the promises went. So is the awakening of Genevieve after Her marriage ends. In search of assistance for managing the basics in Her life, Genevieve turns to service as the solution.
As she begins to enlist help for keeping her house clean, Genevieve finds a growing joy in male servitude and allows herself to become the Lady G that she had always been but hadn’t allowed herself to discover. “Up until then, I had lived a pretty vanilla life. I didn’t know I was a sadist. I hadn’t explored my dominant nature or discovered that I crave the worship of a male slave who truly believes I am his Supreme Goddess” (p 2).
Ultimately, Dommemoir is an opportunity to do more than explore The Lifestyle. Readers explore what it means to embrace life and boldly venture into a destiny of one's own design, taste and meaning. Often times, we find our answers in unexpected places, sometimes in more than one place. And love in a variety of ways and hearts that leave us branded forever in memory.
